consultations
I work from my Calderdale home, 4 minutes from Junction 24 of the M62 in Yorkshire. I can pick up clients from Halifax station.
I also coach online, using MSN Chat or e-mail, and by phone. Face to face work is preferable, its faster and enables me to read more of your character, and even managing a single 'real' meeting and then working online is better than never meeting at all. But online and phone consultations do work, provided that you can express your feelings well enough.
The most intense work is at the outset of the coaching relationship, and this level of work will always diminish over time. Unless long term support is needed, most of my clients see me for between four and six sessions. By that time, they have either achieved what they needed, or have learned enough new life skills to be able to continue without my help. A session is an hour (although the process has to come a natural end, so allow a little longer when planning travel, as it may over-run). The first session is largely devoted to discovery, to find out what the issues are, and to examine the aims. Subsequent sessions work towards the goals. If you are able to maintain concentration, or if you have many complex issues to consider, 1 1/2 or 2 hour sessions are possible.
I offer e-mail support, if needed, to report on progress, to keep in touch, to keep the inspiration going. This may be as intense as a daily report, or it may simply be there as a security blanket if you need it. Regular reviews will be held and the cost of the support adjusted to suit the work being done.
